Parking Sensor Repair

Parking SensorRepair

Parking sensor repair at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we find the faulty sensor or broken wire, replace the sensor and paint it to body color if needed. Diagnosis and repair from … GEL, time 1-2 hours without painting.

Common faults

  • Beeps constantly with nothing behind — dirt, ice or water on a sensor, a cracked sensor body, or a sensor that shifted in the bumper.
  • Completely silent — fuse, control unit, a break in the main harness, or a stored fault.
  • Misses obstacles on one side — one dead sensor or its connector.
  • Stopped working after bumper repair or paint — not reconnected, broken holder, or too much paint on the sensor face.
  • Warning on the dash with factory systems — the module already knows which channel is not responding.

How we find the bad sensor

  • Read the park assist module codes if the system is factory-fitted and the scanner supports it.
  • Check each sensor: a working one vibrates and ticks lightly when active, a dead one does not.
  • Test the bumper harness. Wiring in the bumper suffers from small knocks, pressure washing and salty sea air: corroded connectors are a frequent cause in Batumi.
  • Replace only the faulty sensor, not the whole set.

Parking sensors and bumper repair

After a collision the sensors are often fine but their holders in the bumper are broken. During bumper repair we restore the holders or bond in new ones and paint the sensors separately in a thin coat: thick paint deadens the signal. If the bumper is going in for paint, have the sensors checked at the same time so you do not paint twice.

FAQ

Can you replace just one sensor?

Yes. The sensor is matched by part number or car model; a wrong sensor can make the system misbehave.

Does a new sensor need painting?

Many come black or in primer. Painting to body color is optional; we use a thin coat so it keeps working.

Why does it beep in the rain?

Water drops on a sensor look like an obstacle. If the beeping continues after it dries, the sensor is probably letting moisture in.

How long does it take?

1-2 hours without painting. With painting, we give the time at drop-off.
