Suspension Inspection

SuspensionInspection

Suspension inspection at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we put the car on a lift, check suspension, steering and brakes component by component. Then we tell you what needs replacing now and what can wait. Price from … GEL, takes 30-60 min. You get a prioritized list of faults and an estimate.

When to come in

  • Knocking or thuds over potholes, speed bumps and cobblestones.
  • Creaking when turning the wheel at a standstill or driving over bumps.
  • A hum that grows with speed — often a wheel bearing.
  • Clicking when turning under throttle — a classic outer CV joint symptom.
  • Play in the steering, the car wanders or pulls to one side.
  • Uneven tire wear, the body keeps bouncing after a bump.
  • Before buying a used car or before a long trip on mountain roads.

What we check

  • Shock absorbers — oil leaks, dust boots and bump stops, strut mounts.
  • Control arms and bushings — cracked or torn rubber, arm movement under load.
  • Ball joints — axial and radial play with a pry bar, boot condition.
  • Sway bar links and bushings — the most common cause of a light rattle.
  • CV joints and driveshafts — boots (a torn boot means the joint will fail soon), play.
  • Wheel bearings — wheel play, noise when spinning.
  • Tie rods, tie rod ends and the steering rack — play, leaks.
  • Springs — cracks, sagging, broken coils.
  • Brakes — pad thickness, disc condition, hoses.

How it works

  1. A short talk: when and where the noise appears, at what speed.
  2. Inspection on the lift with the wheels hanging and under load.
  3. If needed, a test drive together with you to hear the same noise.
  4. A list: what is worn, how urgent it is, what affects safety. An estimate for parts and labor.

Adjara roads — potholes, switchbacks, cobblestones in the old town — load the suspension harder than a smooth highway. The humid sea climate makes bolts seize and rubber parts break down sooner. On imported used cars we often find several worn components at once.

FAQ

How much does a suspension inspection cost?

From … GEL. Repairs are priced separately, after you approve them.

Can you tell what knocks from a description over the phone?

We can guess, not confirm. A sway bar link, a ball joint and a strut mount can all sound alike.

Do I have to fix everything at once?

No. We mark what is critical for safety (ball joints, tie rods, brakes) and what can be planned.

Do I need an alignment after the repair?

After replacing control arms, ball joints, bushings or tie rods — yes, the wheel angles change.
