Car AC Rechargein Batumi
Car AC recharge at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we check the system for leaks, recover the remaining refrigerant, pull a vacuum and recharge with … refrigerant to the factory quantity. Price from … GEL, takes 1-2 hours. If the system does not hold pressure, a recharge alone will not solve the problem.
Why the AC stops cooling
- Refrigerant leak through fittings, hoses or the condenser — the most common cause.
- The condenser is dirty or the fan is not working.
- Faulty compressor, sensors or electrics.
- Batumi heat and long traffic jams load the system hard, so weak spots show up in summer.
How we work
- Diagnostics: pressure, outlet temperature, compressor and fan operation.
- Leak check before recharging.
- Recovery, vacuum, recharge to the quantity in the car's documentation.
- The refrigerant type — R134a or R1234yf — is set by the car and must never be mixed. Here: ….
- If repair is needed, we give an estimate before the work.
When a recharge is enough and when it needs repair
A recharge does the job when refrigerant escaped slowly. The AC cooled fine, then got weaker over a season or two. If it quit within days or weeks of the last recharge, the leak is big. Find and fix it first (leak detection), or the gas just escapes again. Compressor noise or clicking, a burning smell, a wet floor mat on the passenger side — those call for AC diagnostics, not a top-up.
What affects the cost
- Refrigerant type: R134a or R1234yf; the latter costs more per gram.
- System capacity per the documentation: a compact car and a minivan with a rear evaporator take different amounts.
- Whether leak detection with UV dye or nitrogen is needed.
- Replacing O-rings or service port valves if they leak.
- Adding compressor oil to replace what escaped with the refrigerant.
We quote the exact amount after measuring pressure, before any work starts. If the readings say a recharge alone won't fix it, we explain why and go on only with your approval.

FAQ
How much does an AC recharge cost?
From … GEL. R1234yf refrigerant is usually more expensive than R134a: we give the exact price for your model.
How often does it need recharging?
A sealed system doesn't need regular recharging. If yours does, we look for the leak.
Which refrigerant does my car use?
It is stated on the plate under the hood. Usually R134a, on newer cars R1234yf.
How long will I wait?
1-2 hours.
Should I run the AC in winter?
Yes, briefly, every couple of weeks. Oil travels with the refrigerant and keeps seals and compressor lubricated. In humid Batumi weather the AC also clears fogged windows faster than anything else.
After the recharge the vents smell musty — is that normal?
The smell comes from the evaporator, not the refrigerant. Fix it with AC cleaning and disinfection.
