Two types of polishing
- Corrective (cutting) — removes a thin layer of clear coat together with scratches and scuffs. For visible defects.
- Finishing — restores depth and gloss when the clear coat is intact but dull.
If your fingernail catches in a scratch, polishing won't remove it. That's scratch repair with painting.

How the job goes
- Wash, removal of tar, tree sap and bonded contamination.
- Inspection under a lamp and clear coat thickness reading: on repainted panels and thin clear coat we work more carefully.
- Plastic, rubber and badges are taped off — compound and pads stain and wear them.
- A cutting step only where there are scratches, then a finishing step over the whole body.
- Wipe-down and check under light. If holograms remain, we go over them again.
What affects the price
- Body size and number of panels.
- How many steps are needed: finishing only, or cutting plus finishing.
- Clear coat hardness: soft paint scratches easily, hard paint takes longer to correct.
- Repainted panels and thin clear coat need more time and care.
- Extras: headlights, exterior plastic, glass.
How to check the result
Shine your phone flashlight on the paint or look at it in the sun. No swirl marks. No compound left in the gaps or on the trim. Body lines and panel edges aren't polished through.

How much does polishing cost?

Does polishing remove all scratches?
Only those in the clear coat. Polishing thins the clear coat, so deep defects are not polished out.
Is it worth polishing before selling?
If the clear coat is intact, yes, buyers see the difference at inspection. If there are chips down to metal, do spot painting first.
How long will it take?

How often can a car be polished?
Each cutting polish takes off some clear coat, so do it rarely. A light finishing polish can be repeated more often. We measure the clear coat first and tell you how much is left.
Does polishing help cloudy headlights?
If the outer plastic has yellowed and clouded, yes, it clears up. If the haze is inside the headlight or the housing is cracked, polishing won't help.
