Body Geometry Check and Restoration

Body Geometry Checkand Restoration

Body geometry check and restoration at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we measure the body's control points, find the twist after an accident and fix it on the frame bench. Geometry measurement from … GEL, restoration from … GEL, and we confirm the result with a final measurement.

Signs of damaged geometry

  • Different gaps between the door and fender on the left and right.
  • After a wheel alignment the car still pulls to one side.
  • A wheel is shifted in the arch, the tire rubs the liner.
  • The windshield cracked without being hit, the doors "click" when closing.

Measuring before you buy

Many cars in Georgia were brought from the USA after accidents (Copart, IAAI auctions). A geometry measurement before buying shows how the body was repaired: pre-purchase inspection + point measurement — up to 1-2 hours.

How we restore it

Measuring the control points -> clamping on the frame bench -> pulling -> repeat measurement -> wheel alignment. Details on the frame straightening page.

What the measurement includes

  • Underbody inspection on a lift: traces of welding and pulling, replaced parts, creases on chassis rails.
  • Measuring control points on the underbody and in the engine bay and comparing them with the maker's data for the model.
  • Comparing door and window opening diagonals and left-right symmetry.
  • A paint thickness check on the panels if needed.

You get a list of deviations: which points are out, by how much, and what it takes to fix them.

What affects the cost of restoring it

  • How many points are out of tolerance and in which part of the body.
  • A chassis rail, panel or pillar that has to be replaced.
  • How many parts must come off, including suspension and radiators.

FAQ

How can I tell if a car's geometry is damaged?

For sure, only by measuring. Uneven gaps, pulling to one side and uneven tire wear point to it.

Can you check the geometry of an auction car?

Yes. The measurement plus a paint thickness gauge shows which zones were repaired and how well.

Is it dangerous to drive with damaged geometry?

Yes. The car holds the road worse, and in a second impact the body absorbs energy differently from what the manufacturer intended.

How much does it cost?

Measurement from … GEL, pulling one zone from … GEL.

Is body geometry connected to wheel alignment?

Yes. If the suspension mounting points have moved, you can't set the wheel angles to spec, or the car still pulls. We fix the body first, then do the alignment.

Which impacts most often damage body geometry?

A frontal hit that reaches the chassis rails. A side impact into a pillar or sill. A hard curb or pothole strike with a wheel, which can shift suspension mounting points. A rollover.

The airbags did not deploy — so the body is fine?

Not necessarily. Airbags fire on deceleration. A wheel strike or a slow hit on a corner can move body points without triggering them. Only measuring tells you for sure.
