• Manual and clutch — on the Fiesta, Focus and Transit the clutch wears faster in city driving and under load.

2. Engine

EcoBoost engines differ: the 1.0 uses a timing belt that runs in oil and must be changed on schedule, while bigger EcoBoosts, including the V6, use a chain that can stretch. Coolant leaks are common on turbo versions. High-mileage naturally aspirated engines show leaks, worn mounts and oil burning. Transit diesels need attention to the fuel system. 3. Body and rust
