Why the roof fades first

The roof is the flattest panel and takes the most sun. The clear coat turns cloudy, cracks and peels, especially on dark and red cars. Leave it and rust starts under the clear coat.

What we do

Color change and black roof

The roof can be painted another color, for example black, as a contrast to the body. We mask by hand along the pillars, glass frames and seals so the color line comes out crisp. A full body color change is a full repaint.

Where rust hides on a roof

Around the windshield and rear window frames, along the drip rails, under the roof rails. Water sits longest there. Corrosion at the windshield frame can't always be fully removed without taking the glass out. If so, we tell you before we start: removing and refitting the glass is priced separately.

What affects the price

• Roof area: sedan, wagon, SUV or minivan.
• Sunroof, panoramic roof, roof rails, antenna — removed or carefully masked.
• Damage depth: cloudy clear coat, peeling down to the base coat, or rust at the glass.
• Color change: needs a crisp line along the pillars and seals.

How to check the result

The clear coat is uniform, with no cloudy patches or orange peel. The line at the pillars is straight, there is no paint on the rubber, the drip rails are clean, and the sunroof opens and does not leak.
