Honda SuspensionRepair
Honda suspension repair at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we find the source of the knock or pull on the lift, replace shocks, control arms, bushings and sway bar links. We finish with a wheel alignment. Inspection from … GEL, 30-40 min; shock absorber replacement from … GEL.
What Hondas usually come in with
Below are the typical issues on the Civic, CR-V and Accord; much of it applies to the Fit/Jazz, HR-V, Pilot and Odyssey too. Many Hondas in Georgia are imported used cars, and several parts are often worn at once.
- Sway bar links. The most common cause of a dull clunk over small bumps. A cheap part, often mistaken for a shock absorber knock.
- Front lower control arm rear bushing. A well-known weak spot on Civic, CR-V and Accord: the steering wheel wobbles under braking, the car feels floaty at speed, the rubber looks cracked.
- Rear shocks. The car keeps bouncing after a bump, bottoms out with passengers or cargo, oil traces on the rod.
- Inner edge wear on rear tires. Several Civic and CR-V generations have a multi-link rear suspension, and sagging springs or worn bushings push the camber out. We check the angles and arms instead of just selling new tires.
Rear groan on a CR-V is not always suspension
On AWD CR-Vs, a grinding or shudder from the rear during slow tight turns is often caused by the rear differential fluid, not the suspension. We check this before replacing any suspension parts — sometimes a differential fluid change is all it takes.
How we do it
- Test drive with you: where it knocks, on which bumps, when turning or braking.
- Lift inspection: play in arms, ball joints and tie rods, bushing condition, shock leaks.
- Itemized estimate: what needs replacing now and what can wait.
- Replacement. Shocks are replaced in pairs per axle; bushings are pressed into the arm or the complete arm is replaced, depending on part availability and arm condition.
- Wheel alignment after replacing arms, tie rods or struts.
What affects the price
- Model and suspension type: Hondas of different years use either MacPherson struts or a double wishbone at the front, and usually many arms at the rear.
- AWD: on 4WD CR-V and HR-V the rear components are harder to reach.
- OEM or aftermarket parts, availability in Batumi.
- Seized bolts — common on high-mileage cars in our humid climate.

FAQ
How much does shock absorber replacement cost on a Honda Civic?
Labor from … GEL per shock. Parts cost depends on the Civic generation and OEM vs aftermarket.
What does suspension repair cost on a 2008 CR-V?
It depends on what is worn: sway bar links, bushings, shocks. After the inspection you get an itemized estimate.
Do shocks have to be replaced in pairs?
Yes, in pairs per axle. Otherwise the car behaves differently on the left and right.
Why are my rear tires wearing on the inside?
On many Hondas it is rear camber. We check the angles and arm bushings and replace arms if needed.
