Wheel Arch Repair in Batumi

Wheel Arch Repairin Batumi

Wheel arch repair at PRO SERVICE (Batumi, Airport Highway 212): we cut out rotten metal, weld in a repair arch, treat the weld and cavity with rust protection, and paint. Price — from … GEL per arch, turnaround — 2-3 days.

Signs the arches need repair

  • Paint bubbles along the arch edge, rusty streaks.
  • Holes behind the fender liner.
  • Dent from hitting a curb.

How we repair

  1. Remove the fender liner, assess the rust area.
  2. Cut out rotten metal back to clean steel.
  3. Weld in a repair arch or patch, treat the weld.
  4. Filler, primer, paint, rust protection.

Where the rust starts

A rear arch is an outer and an inner panel welded along the lip. Dirt and sand pack into that seam and hold water, so corrosion often starts inside. Outside, the paint has only bubbled. Behind the liner the metal is already gone.

Why we do not just fill over rust

Cover a rotten arch with filler and paint, and the rust keeps spreading under the layer. The bubbles come back over a bigger area. So we cut everything affected back to sound metal, even if only a small spot shows outside.

What affects the price

  • Front or rear arch: the rear one is part of the body shell, so the job is harder.
  • How far the corrosion has gone: just the lip, the whole arch, or the inner arch and sill too.
  • A repair patch or a complete repair arch.
  • How much needs paint: only the repair area or the whole quarter panel or fender, so there is no visible blend line.
  • Bumper, tail light or fuel door that has to come off for access.

How to check the result

  • Ask to see the metal after cutting, before welding: the edges should be clean, with no rust.
  • After painting the arch line is smooth and mirrors the other side.
  • The weld inside the arch is covered with seam sealer and rust protection.
  • The fender liner is back in place with all its fasteners.

FAQ

How much does arch repair cost?

From … GEL per arch with painting. Rear arches are harder than front ones. They're part of the body and don't come off.

Why do arches rust?

The wheel throws sand and water, paint wears off, and the metal stays wet.

Do I need fender liners?

Yes, if you don't have them. They shield the arch from abrasion.

How long will it take?

2-3 days.

Can you put a patch in instead of a repair arch?

If the hole is small and the metal around it is solid, yes, we weld in a patch. If the rot runs along the whole lip, a complete repair arch is the safer job.

Will the repair be visible?

No, if the weld is filled and painted properly. To avoid a shade difference we match the color by paint code and, if needed, paint the whole panel.

If the rust is just starting, does it have to be welded?

No. If the paint has bubbled but the metal underneath is not rusted through, we sand down to metal, treat the rust, prime and paint. Then we seal the arch with rust protection from the inside.
