Front and rear fenders — different repairs
- The front fender is bolt-on and removable. For a big dent it is simpler and often cheaper to replace the part.
- The rear fender (quarter panel) is welded to the body. It is repaired in place, and when badly damaged part of it is cut out and a new section welded in.

What affects the price
- Which fender: the front one bolts on and is easy to swap; the rear quarter panel is welded in and repaired in place.
- Size and shape of the dent: smooth, creased or with torn metal.
- Damage to the wheel arch, liner, bumper or headlight mounts.
- Indicator repeaters, sensors or arch extensions on the fender.
- Cost of a new or used part for your model, and painting with a blend.
What to check after a fender repair
Gaps between the fender, hood, door and bumper should be even and match the other side of the car. The front door opens fully without catching the fender edge. The tire doesn't rub the liner on full lock. If the impact reached the wheel, we check the suspension and do a wheel alignment afterwards, so the car doesn't pull to one side.

Can a fender dent be fixed without painting?
If the paint isn't cracked and the dent is smooth, yes, with paintless dent repair. A crease on the fender's body line usually can't be pulled that way.
