How a dent is removed
- We look at the dent under a striped lamp: the way the lines bend shows its shape and depth.
- We find a way in from behind — through factory access holes, under the trim, or by removing a light or wheel arch liner.
- If there is no access, a glue tab is bonded to the center of the dent and pulled, then the glue is removed without a trace.
- The metal is worked up gradually and the high spots knocked down until the reflection is straight.
- The result is checked under the lamp and in daylight.
What affects the price
- Size and depth of the dent, and whether the metal is stretched.
- Location: on a body line, at a panel edge, over an inner brace.
- Material: aluminum hoods and doors take longer than steel.
- Trim, lights or liners that must come off for access.

The dent is a year old — can it still be removed without paint?
