What should I do if the gearbox kicks when shifting?
Get it diagnosed soon. Often the cause is old fluid or the valve body, and fixing that costs far less than a rebuild once wear reaches the clutch packs.
Does a fluid change help an old automatic?
Often yes, if the fluid is old but the clutch packs are still healthy. We check a fluid sample and the control unit data first, then recommend drain-and-fill or a full exchange.
How long does a gearbox repair take?
Diagnostics take 1-2 hours. Repair time depends on parts delivery. We give it after teardown.
